The trouble is calories from dietary fat can be high and have a tendency to be held by the body which is something that doesn’t occur when excess calories are taken with other foods. Another problem is the obsession with nonfat or low fat foods that food manufacturers are stacking the shelves with which, inspite of their popularity are not halting the problem of obesity.

What individuals fail to comprehend is that it isn’t merely fat in their food that is making them put on additional pounds, it’s the quantity of food they consume and the calorific content of it. The term lite can be a trap if you start to believe that you can eat any amount of lite food, when it is far better to react to hunger with healthy snacks.

Schools of thought differ on this topic, however quite a few dietitians agree that eating smaller meals with a snack every three to four hours or between meals could be beneficial providing main meals are not missed.
